Jacob Ulzen (Ghana)

Research Associate

Jacob is a Research Fellow at the University of Ghana’s Forest and Horticultural Crops Research Centre (FOHCREC).
Jacob has a PhD in Soil Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. He also had his MSc in Soil Science and BSc Agriculture from KNUST. Jacob Ulzen was awarded a Bill and Melinda Gates scholarship through the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) for his PhD and MSc studies under the COMPRO II and N2AFRICA Phase I Projects, respectively. Jacob was a postdoctoral fellow at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT on the project “Cocoa climate change adaptation and farmer experimentation”
Jacob’s research interest includes, plant nutrition, carbon sequestration in different land use types, plant – soil – microbe interaction (mainly rhizobia and Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi), biodiversity conservation and ecosystem monitoring.
